Proving that you haven’t seen the entire film yet, Sony has released another new TV spot for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I’m curious as to why they keep doing this, but I assume they want to capitalize on the comic buzz surrounding this weekend’s amazing Captain America: The Winter Soldier (see my review here.) It will also kick off the summer blockbuster season (no disrespect to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but summer blockbuster season begins on the first weekend of May; it is known). Does giving so much of the movie away help or hurt the film? I can see both sides of the coin; on one hand all the footage has been great and very fun, but on the other hand there is something to be said about shrouding your film in mystique.
The film stars Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Emma Stone, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, B.J. Novak, Colm Feore, and Sally Field. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in 3D on May 2nd.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man 2:
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.
